Hurry Up

Something different. I shot a bit each day, Sunday to Wednesday. We start Sunday morning in Phoenix for day two of the work retreat. Nice walk around the Arizona Biltmore’s grounds. The meetings and flight back to SFO lost to the blur of memory. Monday morning, went into the office to kick off the short week. Busy busy then home to discover the Maserati GranTurismo that’s lived across from our 3-series all these many months has been replaced by a new Porsche Panamera. Yeah. Tuesday we went shopping for Thanksgiving dinner components. We’re hosting friends as usual. While carrying the groceries in, realized that the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera that’s parked near the Touareg has been traded for a McLaren MP4-12C. Depressing that college students own all of them. Then Wednesday Shari arrived, bearing a case of win, handmade vodka and a bonsai. Yes, the holidays are upon us.

Phoenix Redux

Had to hop over to Phoenix for another work retreat. Same game plan as in the spring. Fly out Saturday morning. Fly back Sunday night. Lots of work in between. They did put us up in nice digs so it’s not too painful. Still. Weekend felt M.I.A.

I’m off to Phoenix for a work-related retreat this weekend. So Friday was largely about preparing. Plus a couple of cute cat shots and food rundowns.

Eleven Eleven

Sunday happened. I was lazy. Then we went for a walk with M+M. Decided to get dinner. Soup, salads and breads from Whole Foods back to their apartment. After, we came home and I talked for you. The end.

Killing Time

Very relaxed day. In fact, I didn’t leave the house until almost 4. Went downtown to check out the iPad mini. I’d read all about it of course but wanted to hold one. It’s nice but nothing earth shattering. The crowds around Union Square got to me. Probably won’t repeat that trip on Saturday until January. Have I mentioned that I hate this time of the year enough yet? Our friend Kip had a birthday celebration at Tacolicious. Nice space. Good margaritas and nibbles. Met up with Matt + Miguel, who is getting over wisdom teeth extraction. Then Rich and I finished up with evening with a deep discussion about shut-ins. Might not be a bad life.

Damp

A beautiful, cold yet boring Friday. Took Rich to work. Had the usual waffle at my fave cafe. Housekeepers came. Met a grad student to review a script. Made dinner and relaxed with my husband. Nice but ho-hum. No apologies though.

Faucet

New kitchen faucet installed. Wow. I think I can die happy. (Caution, sarcasm at work.) Then I saw a web piece on my nieces having a crazy Mad Hatter-esque tea party on their university grounds. Seriously. Love it.

A shortened Sunday. Time change of course. Also didn’t help that I slept most of the morning away. Needed though, that’s for sure. Feeling better. Bought a new kitchen faucet. Never really expected to use that sentence. Then a nice dinner for two. Decent way to close out the weekend, I suppose.

63 Percent

Got a lot of sleep so I’m feeling better. Still not 100 percent though. It was a no-maids week so I had to clear out and let Rich clean the house. Met up with my pal Alex. He amused me with his plan to catch and release a shark. Then off for errand running. Fascinating stuff such as getting cat food and the car washed. Called it an early evening in deference to this stupid mini cold.

Little Cold

I’ve had an extra mild cold all week. Barely slowed me down until today. Had to go into to school to make up a couple of recording sessions that were scrubbed on Wednesday due to the Giant’s parade. Wound up staying all day. Was losing my voice by the time I got home. Doesn’t make for a thrilling Friday night, I know.
