Movie Weekend
February 17, 2008 at 11:38 pm | 1 Comment »Consumed a number of older movies this weekend. Superbad, Notting Hill and Sixteen Candles being the three that come to mind right away. Interestingly, I just realized that all three of them came in HD. Superbad as an iTunes rental on the Apple TV. My first electronic rental btw. Notting Hill from HBO HD and Sixteen Candles from HDNet Movies. The latter has become one of my faves because it has a healthy schedule of great older titles that have been painstakingly transferred and updated with Dolby 5.1 audio–all running uncut without commercials. Sadly, it seems DirecTV is determined to turn it into a premium channel. I’m really over the cable/satellite duopoly.
Hey there, Never saw a theatre release of the Joy Division movie, Control, but it looks like the US DVD release is happening March 25th. Maybe it will be an offering via Apple?
