Hard to believe the first two months of 2012 are gone. Low key day around here. Though I noticed buds on the Japanese maples outside. That’s a good sign. And workmen on the roof. Not so much. Played with the cats and made my 99¢ sugar cookies.
Another day of waiting for a repair guy. But this time the effort isn’t entirely fruitless. I found eyelashes for your car. Somehow I don’t think they’d look right on the Touareg. I’ve decided to start telling the world. A&E Factory Service can’t schedule appointments. Pathetic.
We schlep our laundry over to Matt and Miguel’s who took pity on our broke-washer selves. They even made us an amazing brunch. Lots of playing with Puck the cat. A bit of other silliness. And my husband was in fine form. Especially like the end when he lets us all know just how excited he is about Billy Crystal hosting tonight’s awards.
Very active Saturday. Gorgeous day so I did a bunch of running around. Had to have blood drawn for lab work following my recent physical. Had a great crispy tofu sandwich at Dinosaurs. Strongly recommend it if you’re in SF. Show off my culinary skills again. And finally give a quick tour of my new toy. A Nike Fuel Band for tracking everyday physical activity. I think I’m going to like it.
I get to spend most of the day waiting around for a washer repair guy to show. He finally does. Hours late. But the best part is, I get to do it all again on Monday. Plus Sydney leaping halfway up the door to get the blue mustache from last Saturday night.
Yeah, we spent our holiday waiting around for an inspection. Whee. Then I have some cute kitty time, show you where I (don’t) workout and share an impromptu meatless dinner recipe.

The cavalcade of February birthdays continues. Happy happy to my nephew Nate and friend Shari. Lots of playing with the kitties. Then off to a mustache party hosted by our pals Lance and Kip. Stick on mustaches for all. Sydney and Alice in particular enjoyed them.
Then found hard drive. Neighbors who let their dog crap in the elevator. And watch to the end for an incredibly cute sight of Puck the cat playing with an iPhone. Seriously.
It’s my first physical in three years. First prostate exam ever. Turns out that compared to my husband, a lesbian doctor’s finger is nothing. All those tough straight guys who complain about it, you’re wimps. I decide it’s time to ditch Hulu Plus. And I rail about how artificial Valentine’s Day is.
