Slow start to the day. Lots of cute shots of the cats. Rich collected his birthday present tonight. Dinner and a show at Yoshi’s. Peter Murphy, the goth high priest. Terrific show. Then I rant about loathing St. Patrick’s Day.
Not my typical daily video. Just wanted to see how the new iPad lives up to the claims of shooting and editing HD video.
Nicest surprise is that the timeline will show the audio waveform so you can cut to the peaks and valleys. Biggest disappointment is the title engine. It seems to rely strictly on canned themes with no options for using solid backgrounds, changing faces, etc. But if you know a hidden control that I missed, let me know.
Overall, I’m impressed. While it won’t be replacing a dedicated camera and desktop for me, the fact that you can now get a self-contained HD camera, editor and playback solution for $505 seems significant.
Had the 3-series serviced for oil, brakes and other minor annual items, waited for the house cleaners to do their thing and didn’t wait for a new iPad. Thank you FedEx for being unimaginably prompt. Then Brenden came to dinner and I fell asleep before editing this, hence the Friday video uploaded on Saturday—assuming YouTube actually works. Uploads seem buggy for some reason.
Scintillating Monday of driving around, working out and making up another vegetarian dinner on the fly. For the record, I did get the tax prep done so we can move on from that excitement.
It’s my husband’s birthday. He celebrated by cleaning the house. Seriously. Managed to capture the cats fighting. Otherwise kind of a low-key day. We had a nice dinner out with Jessie, Justin, Matt and Miguel though.
Last day of waiting for appliance repair people. Yes, the washer is fixed so we can move on from that saga. I hope. Then the day just sort of melted away. Maybe I’ll get to the tax prep tomorrow.
Earthquake! Well sort of. After the fire the other night, what’s next? A good old fashioned famine? Judging from today’s footage, I spent a big chunk of it in three different cars. Picked up the iMac again from Apple. Early signs seem encouraging but I’m not getting too excited. Marc and I went shopping downtown. Then I made the mistake of hitting big box Bed Bath.
Exciting day. Though not the sort that I’d necessarily live over. Started off with troubleshooting a network/internet connection issue that got really bad suddenly. Followed by a quick, late lunch with Matt and Miguel. Then the real excitement. A fire on a neighbor’s balcony. Complete with bone-rattling alarm, San Francisco Fire Department response and confusion. Fortunately, minimal damage and no injuries. Sorry if the footage is a bit jumbled. It was night and the adrenaline was pumping. I’ll try to keep camera work more top of mind next time.
A lot packed into a Saturday. Playing with the cats. Making a smoothie. Test driving the new BMW 3 series (F30) with my pal Marc, who also has an E90 328i. Finally, taking the iMac back to Apple for yet another repair. Third time if you’re keeping count. That last one leaves me a little cranky.
