Had my dual colonoscopy and endoscopy today. News flash: I survived. While they’re not the sort of thing you look forward to having, the overall experience proved inconvenient and annoying more than outright painful. Definitely worth having from an overall health maintenance point of view. Not much else to report. The next few days should be about getting back to normal. See you on Friday.
Out early because we had no milk. Then on to running errands. Finally dinner, Poesia on 18th St—delicious, and a movie, Iron Lady, with Matt and Miguel. Some Puck sightings for the cat fans out there (Shari).
Gorgeous Friday. I share my secret for the perfect iced coffee. Sydney eats a fern. Then I take a drive into school. Stay too long. The end. Yes, it is a glamorous life.
Spent Saturday and Sunday in Phoenix as a work retreat thingy. Not very interesting. Except we were at the famed Arizona Biltmore. Gorgeous hotel and grounds. Too bad it was so damned hot (100+) that being outside most of the day was painful. Was wiped when I got home hence no video until today. Sydney makes an appearance and I share my latest method for curried cauliflower. Rich will be back in a day. Not that I’m eager or anything.
Took Rich to the airport at the crack of dawn. He’ll be gone until Wednesday so I’m on my own. The rest of the day was just errands and other boring tasks before a nice dinner with Matt and Miguel. Then back to their place for ice cream and Puck time. I’m off to a retreat for the next couple of days. While I’ll still shoot, I won’t have a chance to edit and upload until I’m back Sunday night.
Trying to get back into the swing of things but the incessant construction noise keeps getting in the way. Saw a Smirnoff ad featuring Madonna’s new tour sponsorship. Kind of surprised she’d be associated with vodka since she made a big deal about not drinking during tours. Also, my Lytro camera arrived and I’ve started to play with it. Though I’m not sure what to do with it exactly. Definitely will take some experimenting.
I ordered a Lytro late last year and it finally arrived. Was waiting when I got back from the road trip yesterday. Haven’t had much time to play around with it. While I like the design and the way it feels in the hand, I’m still trying to figure out what to do with it. The proprietary image format and scant viewing options seem to be the biggest hurdles. Stay tuned.
Btw, if you haven’t played around with what Lytro calls a living photo, try clicking on various parts of the image above and watching the focus change. It’s rather cool. I do wonder the whole light field photo thing will turn out to be just an expensive fad. You know, so oh very 2012.
