Do you eat the bread heel? I don’t out of childhood habit. But that’s dumb now that we buy tasty bread. Then I make toast. Talk a bit about the end of the semester. Get a replacement Nike FuelBand. Finally. And talk some more.
The day I’ve been semi-dreading finally arrived. 50. Bah. Then again, I should be happy given the number of friends and acquaintances who didn’t make it out of their 20s. Eww. Too serious. In sillier happenings today, I show off the booze and chocolates that Rich got me. He does know me. Show how to make cold oatmeal. Raw oats. Sugar. Salt. Berries. Soak in milk. Seriously, it’s good. Got a haircut. And say the last words over the Nike+ FuelBand. RIP. It was a good three months.
Turned out to be a day of repairs. First I took Rich’s iMac in so the optical drive could be replaced. Shock of shocks, Apple had it finished and ready for pick up that afternoon. Same day. I’m still kind of stunned. Then I managed to avert a major crisis by resurrecting the washer. Rich called me downstairs around 7 distressed that the unit wouldn’t spin. Same problem we experienced a couple of months ago. The repair guy told me it was just a reset button on the motor. So I spun the unit around and opened up the back. Couldn’t find any button though. Discouraged I closed it up and rotated it back into place. Double checked the pump to rule out any obstructions. Found nothing. Then tried a trial run. The drum turned. Not sure how I fixed it but maybe it will hold this time.
We noticed a red spot on Alice’s chin. Thought it best to have the vet look at it so we’re off for that torture. Diagnosis: Likely a claw wound that got a bit infected. Oral antibiotics for two weeks. Yay. Ran errands and watched the fog flow in. Made some carrot soup. Then Rich took me to Francis for an early birthday-ish dinner.
A busy Friday. Morning errands then I vanish due to a huge chunk of the day spent on conference calls and assorted freelance project obligations. Doesn’t make for exciting video so I didn’t bother to record. Did ruminate a bit on the overdue Obama gay marriage position before we headed out for our first visit to the neighborhood joint Ragazza. A pizzeria that’s been getting tons of high-profile praise. Our verdict? Well deserved. Nice to having another great food option within walking distance.
Got the 3-series washed before grabbing Matt and Miguel then heading to Palo Alto for the afternoon. On the drive home, all three of them got on Grindr of course. Barely talked to me. I feel so used.
Not a fan of this day. Surprise. Stayed well clear of anything faux Mexican. Brenden came over so we could do some freelance work. Then I went out and found a great looking Victorian in the Haight. Finally made dinner for Matt and Miguel, and watched a bad movie.
A relaxing day after a busy week. Mostly back to normal after Monday’s test. A postcard perfect day in San Francisco. Went for a quick run. Then walked over to Nopalito for an indulgent lunch. And some vain rumination on my hair length. Never have claimed to be deep on here, kids.
