Liquid nitrogen and hot needles. Just another morning of pre-cancerous fun at the dermatologist. Such is the life of a pale white boy. Then worked on the magic interconnected box all day, made a tasty vegetarian meal for my man and walked in the fog. And they wonder why Monday has a bad rap.
In which I get rid of the old coffee table and assemble the new one. Then bitch about Folsom Street Fair, iOS 6, m.youtube.com on the iPad (it sucks), Starbucks rewards and constantly feeling out of the mainstream. Fun!
Saturday errands. Rich wanted to clean (what a surprise) so I had to clear out of the house. Breakfast at Starbucks. Gave away my chocolate croissant to a little girl. Noble of me, right? Then off to the East Bay to pick up our new coffee table. Husband and cats put in appearances.
Yes, a weird little video, days late. I muffed the usual intro but didn’t realize it until I went to edit days later. Too late to reshoot. Oh well. The rest of the footage is little more than me ranting about traffic followed by lunch with Darren and Zack. It’s been a busy week, which explains why you won’t see a video for Friday. I needed recovery time.
Show off one of our Swedish souvenirs: Björn Borg underwear in a nice plaid. Then I did the maintenance thing on the cat feeding robot, went downtown, found a Lomography store accidentally and bought those colorful Cole Haan wingtips I saw on Saturday. Nice, unstressed Sunday. And if the no pants thing bothers you, bite me. That is the point after all, right?
Watering the plants. Fascinating. Then a bit of shopping. Got the new Apple Earpods. Yes, they live up to the hype. Stunning sound for $30. Went by the just opened Tout Sweet patisserie. Nice space. Killer view of Union Square. Tasty treats. And the delectable chef Yigit Pura was indeed behind the counter. Fangirl moment: Thought I was going to melt when he looked me in the eye and said hello. Got a low tire warning from the Touareg when I started home. Fortunately, it has a built-in compressor for the air-sprung suspension. Even came with a special hose to air the tires. The process is just a bit precise. You expect anything less from the Germans? Once home, we decided to get Delfina pizza for dinner. Amazing as usual. Life in San Francisco definitely does not suck.
I didn’t order an iPhone 5, which went on pre-sale today. In fact, I rant for a good chunk of this video about why I have no plans to get one. Probably predictable but I managed to entertain myself. And what else matters? Got the BMW washed. Had workers at the apt. And threw a little fit after we got our first fall themed catalog. No, too soon.
A rare Monday at school. But you get to see my new blue wall and green shag rug. Exciting! I program the homelink thingy in both cars to work with the new parking garage door. Thrilling! And I rant about the new California law requiring all apartments—even all-electric ones like ours—to have carbon monoxide detectors. Stupid!
(I think the legislature missed a bet by not requiring a satire detector on video descriptions.)
Yes, I started recording at 5:55. No, not A.M. P.M. Opps. That’s what happens when your humble servant forgets to take the camera to a (delicious) lunch then trundles home to take a nap. Oh well. I attempted to salvage things by shooting some dinner prep. Except that didn’t really work either. My culinary skills failed me. Should have trusted my instinct. At least there’s always chocolate truffles.
