Yes, Rich threw me out. But just for a couple so he could do his white tornado impersonation. Set up camp at a nearby cafe and discovered a new taste treat. Grilled cheese with fig chutney. Must remember to have it again. Watched Moonrise Kingdom finally. Loved it. Then it was time for Rich’s company holiday party. We decided to go because of the location. City Hall. Quite spectacular. I find playing the spouse role at these affairs more than a bit tedious. I don’t know 99 percent of the folks attending so they’re just annoying people in my way for food or booze. Not to mention the whole having to dress up. I know this sounds grinchy but I’d just as soon stay home with the kitties.
A genuinely cold day. One of the two or three each year when you can wear wool. Also prompted me to drive the thirsty V8 only because it’s got a heated steering wheel. Cold fingers are bad. Not much footage today because I spend most of it at school. End of semester hectic and all.
Forgot to edit and upload again. Oops. Celebrating the 25th is a good excuse, right? So yeah, this marks our official anniversary. Really hard to believe it’s been that long. And Rich discloses how Pat Sajak, Vanna White and, of course, Merv Griffin played a pivotal role in our first meeting.
Our winter commencement took place on Sunday. Really just an elaborate photo op since classes won’t end for a couple of weeks. Kind of bizarre. Oh well. Then we went walking with M+M. Nice evening in Noe. Ran into annoying carolers. Sorry to be cantankerous but why is it not only acceptable to torture the public with off key singing but expect praise for so doing?
Our anniversary, No. 25 if you’re keeping track, will be December 10, a Monday this year. Rather than torture ourselves at an Applebees or another of the equally horrible chains a.k.a. just about the only restaurants serving on a Monday, we decided to mark the occasion with a nice dinner on Saturday. The Michelin two-star Coi had a table so we grabbed it. The joint only does 12-course tasting menus. Omnivore or vegetarian. Makes ordering simple. Yes, I know watching all those dishes go by is probably tedious. Sorry, this is as much about supplementing my memory as your entertainment.
A heavy caffeine day. Plus we had a little dinner party with Darren and Zach since Rich wasn’t able to make drinks on Monday. And yes, towards the end of the evening while I relaxed on the couch, Darren took control of the camera. Not to fear, I still have the final edit.
Haircut. Birthday. And Tree. Got the haircut. Celebrated Darren’s birthday. Never got around to putting up the tree because the new litter robot arrived a day early and Rich wanted it assembled right away. Never fear, tree will get up eventually.
Hard to believe it’s already December. I had a vivid, surreal dream just before waking this morning. Since it was fresh on my mind, I thought it made sense to capture it. Then I show you how to service the espresso machine, have lunch as Salumeria with M+M and get another installment of It May Be A Supercar But It’s Still Just A Car. Silliness.
A rainy week. Suddenly the Japanese maples just outside our place started dropping leaves so it looks like Fall. The cutesy stuffed animal in the neighbor’s McLaren amused me. Still don’t quite get why a supercar needs a plush toy. Then Friday I made a hearty soup for a rainy evening of nesting.
