I think Jamie Cullum’s “Everything You Didn’t Do” ranks as the best pop song of the past year. Naturally I’ve pre-ordered Momentum, which is set for a May release. Still, I ever-so-slightly prefer the version used in a San Miguel campaign last summer. Not sure if it’s because I heard that one first or the collaboration with Carlos Sadness, Nita of Fuel Fandango and rapper Frank T adds a bit of magic.
What do you think? (Yes, I actually want comments. Imagine.)
Saw a huge billboard. Stuff happened. I bitched and moaned. Found cute dogs. Then saw a yellow Ferrari Testarossa. More stuff happened. And we got a depressing lesson in just how stupid Americans are, courtesy of the Czech Republic.
Good week for cars and rants. Managed to capture a 70s Maserati, an Ariel Atom and a Ferrari convertible. Rants on the trifecta. Health care, the post office and religion. Took a little Sonoma road trip to pick up wine. Found lots of good food, too.
Woke Monday feeling much worse. Decided I’d had enough; went to doctor for drugs. Drugs worked. Drugs are good. I like drugs. Phoenix for the weekend. Another planning meeting. All work. Little play.
The cold roller coaster continues. Bad one day. Better the next. Only to take a turn for the worse the day after. School stuff happened. Had a little dinner and Drag Race party Friday night. Got some bad news Saturday. Death of a long-time friend. Tried to forget stuff with a movie night and cats being cute. Good riddance to the 13th week.
Cold came back. Blah. Several leave work early, days off and naps ensued. Also had the semi-annual get-naked-and-be-stared-at dermatology appointment. Nothing like getting shot with liquid nitrogen to start the week. I complain about pretentious critics in general and one who pontificated about the meanings in David Bowie’s new album in particular. Then I turned around and critiqued the stripe that my neighbors added to their McLaren MP4-12C. I’m a jerk. Received a shipment of new Olympus gear. OM-D EM-5 and some fast prime lenses. I’m making the switch to micro four thirds. Hopefully you can see the difference in the improved picture. Yes, I realize the sound is off. Experimenting with solutions. Selling the Nikon DX gear will come soon. Weekend dinner with Matt and Miguel—cupcakes yay. Finally close with more cold misery. I just want it to go away.
Better week. Feeling better and longer days makes all seem happier this week. I talk about shooting film. Rage on the pope again. Capped off Rich’s birthday week with a dessert tasting at Tout Sweet, the newish patisserie from Top Chef Desserts winner Yigit Pura. Got and tested a new camera—Olympus Pen Lite E-PL5. Picture quality is great. Still getting the image stabilization and sound options sorted so excuse the shake and tinny sounds in some test footage. Should be a good addition to the lineup though.
Damn taxes. Or damn the need to get organized and send our records to the accountant so he can do our tax returns. In other words, I spent most of the week bitching about tax prep. It is that time of the year after all. Richie had a birthday, too.
Yes, I know. Terribly late uploading. Almost a full week. What can I say? The double whammy of trying to recover from that uber-virus thing and prepping last year’s records so we could get them to the tax guy. No fun. But still I somehow managed to get more than 8 minutes of footage from last week. Yeah I’m shocked, too.
