See…having grown up in New Orleans I have a VERY different take on St. Patrick’s day. I’m sorry that teens from Long Island have no idea how to hold their liquor. Booze was very much a part of New Orleans St. Patrick’s day (or ANY day for that fact), but somehow, folks knew how to hold their liquor better I guess. Ah well. Obviously there was a certain level of southern manners involved with the drunkeness that stood out in New Orleans. (Now that I think about it, it was almost always the tourists that had issue with be obnoxiously drunk)
