Day Two

Second day in Stockholm. Managed to pack in a lot. Went by the Konserthuset to see the Orpheus statue outside. Caught an impromptu vocal performance. Seemed to be promoting a concert. Even though they sang in English, the explanation was Swedish. Oh well. Next went to the Armémuseum because Rich wanted to see the special Raoul Wallenberg exhibit. Didn’t expect to find the King, Queen and Queer installation. It was kind of a warm day (for Stockholm) so we decided to cool down at our hotel’s Ice Bar. They have ice from the famous Ice Hotel permanently installed in a room kept at a constant -5C. You get cape, gloves and an Absolut drink served in a glass made of ice. Kitschy but cool. Literally. Then off to Skeppsholmen and the Moderna muséet. Found a Yoko Ono exhibit among others. Probably my favorite so far. Dinner at Mathias Dahlgren’s Matbaren. Stunning. Too bad the camera battery gave out. Walked home, finding a couple of concerts along the way. Stockholm Festival is going on right now so there’s tons of concerts, shows and other street happenings all around us. Definitely a good week to visit.

I’m not sure which I like more…the Ice Bar footage or the museum of modern art that had the sounds of PacMan playing throughout.

    Jealous!
