June 26, 2012 at 11:05 pm | 2 Comments »The day started off with me feeling very behind from the didn’t-get-much-done weekend. But I managed to get almost all of the freelance work squared away. Then actually had time to try out yet another new camera. A Canon Elph 300 HS. Yes, it manages to autofocus during recording without sounding like I’m dragging around a bag of rocks. Sadly, the S100 is going back. It produces better picture but the audio drives me crazy. I’m starting to think the microphone placement is a design flaw. And we wrap up the day with way too much cute cat footage.
I agree, I liked the picture better for the S100. However, I hadn’t noticed the noise so much the past couple posts. Maybe I was use to it. BTW, thank you so much for the extra kitty time. Always makes my day.
I had become neurotic about cutting out any scenes without voice or other background noises. Couldn’t keep editing like that. You need to allow silence sometimes. Not an option with the S100 sadly. Another 300HS bonus: much better battery life. After a week, no regrets.
