8:27 PM PDT Early warning: I'm off to the east coast again
this weekend so updates will likely be sparse. I'll get to hang
with my pal Frank too. Unfortunately, he's taken umbrage at me not
mentioning him here. So here goes. Frank, Frank, Frank, Frank, Frank,
Frank.
Let him know I did this,
okay?
9:34 AM PDT I noticed IBM's
graffiti ads all over my hood last week. At the time, I wondered
how they got away with it. And more importantly, why they bothered.

11:06 PM PDT Too busy to update during the day. Too tired
to update in the evening. Welcome to my world.
More proof
that we're living through 1991 a second time: A friend announces
he's sero-converted.
Definitely the bad kind of retro.

5:07 PM PDT SF municipal employees will soon be covered
for sex
changes. There's gotta be a joke in there someplace.
9:15 AM PDT Yes, I'm back from the East. Actually, I landed
as planned on Monday night. Just haven't had the energy to string
together words here. Sorry. I must have caught the apathy
bug that's going around.

9:08 PM PDT I'll likely go quiet again for several days.
More work duties. Though nothing dramatic this time. No, I simply
have to visit a client's facility in the wilds of New Jersey on
a location scouting trip.
1:44 PM PDT Oh jeez, what a week. Work is newly energized.
A good thing, until you're faced with the specter of the cleaning
lady appearing in your office doorway to announce that she's finished
and oh by the way remember to lock up on your way out.
(I'm not even going to touch on delightful conversational bon mots
tossed off by the graveyard-shift lobby security guy with the funny
haircut.)
Yes, the world of advertising remains as glamorous as ever.

10:03 AM PDT One more thing no one needs in the morning:
crawfish-flavored
potato chips.
10:00 AM PDT Viewing PDFs
on your Palm? That has to fall in the category of stupid technology
trick.

9:50 PM PDT Now I know I said this was a fresh start and
all but there is some sad news. The digicam is temporarily disabled.
Seems the latch on the compact flash card compartment has given
up the ghost so it will be making a visit to the Canon repair depot
in the great state of Illinois. Until the triumphant return, you'll
have to be satisfied with web cam captures.
I know, life is tough.
9:42 PM PDT I'm a bit giddy this evening. Went to see the
accountant
(Yes, my accountant has a site. Not sure how I feel about that.)
today and learned I'm in for a healthy refund. Whew. Big relieve.
I had been sweating this one out in part because last year's bonus
was paid in cash with no withholding.
9:19 PM PDT Okay. Time for a fresh start.

10:39 PM PDT Well the unpleasantness is over. Hopefully
for a long time. Still, I'd like to I'll go crawl in a hole.
