10:28 PM PST In cheerier news, I now have touch up paint
for my car.
Hold your applause.
10:12 PM PST Kind of what's become an ordinary week. Waiting
for the other economic
shoe to drop. How adult. It's going to be a long
four years.

10:13 PM PST Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous weekend here
in Northern California. We celebrated with long lunches and friends.
Several times.
Best part was watching Adrienne's face as she realized that the
Saab convertible wearing the big pink bow was her birthday present.
Lynette wins the cool mom of the month award.
Even my stupid move of the moment (driving away from a station
with gas cap hanging off the fuel flap) didn't dampen my spirits
for too long.

11:31 AM PST Yes, I work in advertising. Doesn't stop me
from labeling certain ideas as stupid.
Or really
stupid.

11:29 PM PST The weekend seemed busy. Though I have difficulty
recalling exactly what happened.
Except for the movies that made their way across my set. Hated
Pay It Forward and Before Night Falls. Liked (maybe
loved) Requiem for a Dream.

2:05 PM PST Back on the correct coast. I was fairly unplugged
during the trip. Odd since the purpose was to evaluate a new intranet
application package. (It sucked but I'm not surprised.)
I've been slow getting back into the swing of things for some reason.
I wish I could say it's because I'm busy at the office but that
would be a lie. Not that there's not plenty to do. I'm just not
doing it.
Maybe I need more coffee.

11:53 PM PST Apologies for being so scarce of late. Between
Macworld, visitors from the north and a bizarre work week, I barely
had time for sleep.
And I'm not going to be catching up for a few more days. I'm off
to madcap Manhattan for a quick business-type meeting tomorrow.
Back here towards week's end.

11:01 PM PST Extraordinary.
5:56 PM PST I've seen and touched
the titanium PowerBook. My want has changed to a need.
11:01 AM PST Lust.

11:08 PM PST Another one of those weekends where it comes
and goes yet I have nothing to show for it. Oh there is the haircut,
courtesy of Lance. And the two new but happily cheap shirt-like
objects from Target. And several meals accompanied by giggles with
friends. But, really, nothing I could manage to write about here.

|
11:08 PM PST Two other recent obsessions. Peet's
Earl Grey with Lavender and Ben
& Jerry's Coconut Cream Pie low-fat ice cream. Double yum.
10:29 PM PST I'd heard of Am
I Hot Or Not before, of course but never visited until Shari
practically dared me. Can't for the life of me imagine why anyone
would submit themselves to such ridicule. Still I'm addicted. It's
like rating the crowd at a large gay bar with your cattiest friends
without dealing with the drunks.

11:21 PM PST Wonder
Boys was tonight's awards show lagniappe. I loved it. A rare
movie that's better than the novel. Not that it was too shabby.
If anyone's keeping score, this entertainment gravy train I've
blundered my way on also served up Nurse
Betty (yawn) and The
Contender (heavy handed but still works) over the weekend.

10:43 AM PST The cold is still weaving mental cob webs around
my brain.
I desperately wanted to stay in bed this morning but did the responsible
thing instead. Nearly two hours later, I sit at my desk not having
the energy to do much more than surf random sites.
It always touches me to find someone who manages new content day
in, day out. Patrick,
I am swooning.

1:13 PM PST Quiet New Year, as you might have guessed from
yesterday's entry. Rich has the urge
to shop at Bloomingdales so we're off to Palo Alto. Looks like a
beautiful day to be out and about.
