How spoiled am I? Three or four times so far this year, I've planned weekend escapes. Even gone so far as making airline reservations. But don't book the tickets or actually cancel because only middle seats are available and/or the time away is too short to justify putting up with the hassles and indignities that comprise flying in coach today.

Consumed a number of older movies this weekend. Superbad, Notting Hill and Sixteen Candles being the three that come to mind right away. Interestingly, I just realized that all three of them came in HD. Superbad as an iTunes rental on the Apple TV. My first electronic rental btw. Notting Hill from HBO HD and Sixteen Candles from HDNet Movies. The latter has become one of my faves because it has a healthy schedule of great older titles that have been painstakingly transferred and updated with Dolby 5.1 audio--all running uncut without commercials. Sadly, it seems DirecTV is determined to turn it into a premium channel. I'm really over the cable/satellite duopoly.

Apple finally released Apple TV Take Two today. (That should appease the alliteration gods for a bit.) I'm most excited about one of the least hyped features. Podcast browsing. There's already a ton of content there and it's just going to get more extensive.

Satellite and cable companies--take a look at what happened to the long-distance telephone business. That's the future of your businesses.

Good news for you!
Anyone can get a couple of hours a day of wifi just for having a Starbucks card.
