October 07, 2007 A North Carolina couple has begun agitating for airlines to restrict showing violent, adult-themed films on the overhead screens. That's prompted some opportunistic members of congress to introduce a bill requiring so-called Family Friendly flights. My first reaction was oh-my-god-you've-got-to-be-kidding-me. Then I started thinking about it and maybe it's not such a bad idea. I'd personally love it if all those annoying children on flights were rounded up and required to sit in one section--preferably way, way back. Now if only there were some way to force the smelly fat guys who usually spill over into my seat back there, too.

October 01, 2007 I'm sick of stories about morons whose hacked iPhones have been bricked by the latest software update. Apple clearly and repeatedly said that third-party software would not be supported on the iPhone. I recall reading statements to that effect long before the things went on sale. Yet people went ahead and played around anyway. Then Apple made it clear that hacked phones might be broken by future updates. The story has been out for weeks. Yet these same people apparently attempted to update their hacked phones. And they're surprised at the results? |
