Finally got around to hooking up the Radio Shark that came as a membership gift from the local NPR station. Have to say it's very impressive. Not that I listen to radio enough to justify the $70 standalone price. But as a gift, hey, I'm not turning it down. Should be interesting to have Fresh Air on the iPod.

Six Feet Under continues to blow me away. Tonight's episode "Ecotone" managed to simultaneously unhinge and satisfy. Talk about going out on a high.

I had a witty entry about that mildly irritating itch you get after shaving your scrotum already to go. Then I remembered that folks from work and people who've known me since high school read this so maybe it's not appropriate.

I finished it. The last four chapters are tough. That's all I'll say for now.

Embed a video display in a rearview mirror? Why not! From the same bright bulbs who think asbestos makes ideal cigarette filter.

I'm happy to have the toasty PowerBook in my lap tonight. I've been cold all day long. The fog never burned off so it's been a bit on the glum side. Actually sat at my desk wearing a polar fleece hoodie for several hours. Took the Touareg out to meet friends for dinner and quickly fired up both the heated seat and steering wheel. Little wonder then that on the drive home just now the dashboard computer indicated an outside temp of 58. The surreal thing is that Sunday we ventured up to Calistoga and the indicate temp was in the mid 90s. It's not even 75 miles north yet you can experience more than a 30 degree swing. I know I write about cold thing every summer but it never fails to astound me.

Update: I'm not the only one. Jessie's bitching about the cold too. So there.
