The NYTimes asks if the impending move of Saab's US Headquarters to Detroit is the beginning of the end for stalwart Swedes. A bit late if you ask me. It's seemed all been downhill since they decamped from Orange, CT.

Which male celebrity are you going to marry? I get Brad Pitt. Oh goodie. Thanks Ryan.

"Sexually Explicit Cream Pie movies" A subject line of an actual spam message that got past my filters today. I laughed.

It's got a catchy beat and you can dance to it. At the gay bar.

I seem to have lapsed back into the once-a-week posting mode. Bad Mark. I'm sure you're all broken up over it. There's no real reason why. Ennui, I suppose. Though not in the strict sense. I don't feel bored on a day-to-day basis. Certainly have plenty to keep me occupied during work hours. (We're planning another growth spurt right now to digest added business.) And the spate of new toys has the leisure time positively overflowing. Last night, for example, got absorbed by Rich's new phone. I suppose I've just dissected the issue. I'm busy, just not with much that seems noteworthy.

Welcome to life, Mark.

The HD Tivo has arrived. Only a year and a half after it was announced. Four months after it won an award at CES. And six weeks after I paid for it. But I've got to admit that it was worth the wait. Recording HD content is of course the main attraction. The unexpected bonus for me is the way it seamlessly adds over-the-air digital TV. The ATSC tuner seems superb. It's pulling in all the local DTV stations without a hiccup. Even the notoriously difficult to receive (here in SF anyway) KNTV-DT comes in perfectly over our dinky indoor antenna. Suddenly digital TV seems ready for everyday use. Interesting then that KCSM will take the step of turning off its analog transmitter within a week.

I'm at my parents for a few days. They don't have Tivo yet, which partially explains why I was channel surfing tonight. And I discovered something wonderful. A network I've never heard of, Trio, showing reruns of Late Night with David Letterman. Tonight in fact, they dusted off a show from the first year that featured the very first installment of Stupid Pet Tricks. Back in the day when no one knew or cared who Dave was. Hysterical. I'll definitely be turning this Trio thing on in the Tivo when I get home Thursday.

Interesting reading from the Sunday NY Times. The latest reinvention of Apple and Steve Jobs. The rejuvenation of the Gap. Yet more proof (as if we needed it) that Rumsfeld is an international joke and must be sent packing along with all the other Bush clowns.
